Biggest Loser- Blogger Edition- Week 1

Well, I can't say much....

I started the week at 179 pounds, and ended at 178... a loss of 1 pound.  I know I can do better.

Let's's see about my goals?

1.) Try to get 10,000 steps a day, but don't settle for anything less than 7500

Well, Except for yesterday (I was rather ill, and laying down)  and today (I admit, I was watching the Inauguration) I was around the 7000 mark each day.  This week, I shoot for 8000

2.) Vegetables.  Seriously, if I get more veggies in a meal, I won't want to snack as much!

I did pretty good on that!  I could do better, though

3.) Exercise every morning, even on the weekends

Fail... Every day but yesterday and today....

4.) Water.  Drinks it!  lots of it!

I actually managed to do that!  Go me!

And back to the Inauguration for a minute....  I got teary at this part:
We, the people, declare today that the most evident of truths – that all of us are created equal – is the star that guides us still; just as it guided our forebears through Seneca Falls, and Selma, and Stonewall; just as it guided all those men and women, sung and unsung, who left footprints along this great Mall, to hear a preacher say that we cannot walk alone; to hear a King proclaim that our individual freedom is inextricably bound to the freedom of every soul on Earth. 
Mentioning women's right, African American civil rights and Gay rights in one sentence... beautiful!
It is now our generation’s task to carry on what those pioneers began.  For our journey is not complete until our wives, our mothers, and daughters can earn a living equal to their efforts.  Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law – for if we are truly created equal, then surely the love we commit to one another must be equal as well
Two of my causes, equal rights for women and the LGBT community in one swoop.

I'm sure there are people at Fox news fuming about this already.

So, to sum up:

  • Obama's a cool dude
  • I need to get off my fat ass on the weekends
  • Salad needs to make an appearance at my house again
  • More steps
  • Less snacks (I have few of them in the house, thankfully)
