I've had this post on my mind for quite some time.
And it's going to get a little TMI.. just to warn you!
Ready?
Often people come to our house when we're not expecting them. We'll yell something about holding on, and make them wait until we open the door.
Most of the time, it's because we have to wrangle the puppy. Sometimes it's because I'm not wearing any clothes.
Yes! I know! Scandalous!
But why? What's the big deal?
Watch this. Then we'll talk.
Got that?
Nudity does not mean that sex must now follow. The absence of clothing doesn't meant that someone is looking for sex. If this was true, showering would be rather inconvenient....
Let me make this very clear. There's nothing wrong with showing skin. (Well, in public nudity all illegal... but that's another thing). If I want to parade around naked in my own home, there is nothing wrong with that. If you want to parade around naked by yourself, or with your friends in the privacy in your own homes, there's nothing wrong with that.
Never, ever does nudity mean that you give consent for sex. Never. Wearing an outfit that is form fitting or that shows skin isn't giving consent for sex.
Got it?
Also, there's nothing shameful about the human body. We ALL have a body. It may not look the way you like, but we all have one. No one has the right to tell YOU that you should be ashamed of your body. (I'm not happy with my health, which includes my weight, hence me trying to change it. I'm not ashamed of my body)
If you want to parade around your own home without clothes on, no one should make you feel shame for it.
And for other, like me, who sleep naked. Apparently it's a good thing!
Now, if you will excuse me.... It's time for me to go. I've got a bra to take off.
I'm a comic book movie lover, a musical theater geek, a Disney fanatic, a master of Trival Pursuit and all around nerd!

Too many thoughts.
It's been a rough time to be a thinky person.
I mean, between Gaza, Israel, Ukraine, Russia, Ebola in Africa, the erosion of personal rights by the supreme court, the invasion of a church by anti-abortion activists, the multitude of trailers coming out of Comic Con and my complete lack of chocolate in this office....
I'm overwhelmed!!
Now, there is little on that list that is directly related to me. Except the lack of chocolate. I can fix that particular problem.
I can't do much about Ebola, or Pro-Russian Separatists, and I can't bring peace to the Middle East.
There's only so much I can do.
I need to remind myself that I can only do what I can do. I can try to get my household chores done. I can weed the front yard. (Anyone want to help me? It's out of control!!) I can run. I can take the puppy on walks.
Things I shouldn't do? Read the comments on ANYTHING. And stay up past midnight thinking about all the things in my life that I could have done better.
That never helps anyone.
If you need me, I'll be home, avoiding the news.

I only have 3 months
I have 3 months until my first half marathon.
That astonishes me.
And have I been training? To the best of my ability.
I've also had some crappy runs. Like 17 minute mile runs. I decided that the only way to make the crappy run less crappy is to do it over and over again!
Which I have been doing. I also switched from listening to audio books to music. Get more pep in the step!
I still don't know what in the world I was thinking signing up for this...
Because we all know that I didn't just sign up for 1 race... I signed up for the challenge... the 5K on Saturday and the half on Sunday.
I'm crazy!
But seriously... I'm doing 2 half marathons this fall... if anyone is in the area, come cheer me on!

I stepped on the scale this morning...
Now, let me admit something: I've been bad. It was a holiday weekend and I was bad.
So I decided to see HOW bad.
178.
Seriously.
Ouch!
So this week I need to work! I'm scheduling my workouts more effectively. There's supposed to be rain toward the end of the week. That means I need to front load my runs, and leave the strength training for the end of the week.
All of this on a week where grocery shopping didn't net us much. Our usual grocery store was rather bare...
This means that I need to head out to a store tomorrow after work. Blah...
I'm disgusted with myself. Time to work!

Can I get a vacation from my long weekend?
Saturday came in wet and cool, so I met a friend to go running.
I now know how out of shape I am! After 5 miles I limped home. After a shower we pick up a friend and went thrifting! We had 2 missions: shelves and a lamp! Came home with 3 shelves, a floor lamp and shade and some legos.
We always come home with legos...
After we went back to the BFF's house for a BBQ. I also picked up the boxes of china that have been in her basement for YEARS:

My grandmother's china. The pink depression glassware that my Aunt set aside for me and my teacup collection. Isn't it pretty???
Now I just have to throw a tea party!
Today was more low key. I HURT from yesterday's run, so I took a bath and did some yoga.
I got injured doing yoga.... I know... it takes talent to injure one's self doing yoga. Not just yoga! Beginner's yoga!!
I have talent!
Right now dinner is cooking, and I'm working out a list of chores and workouts for the next week. My goal for the next week:
Simply to do the list!!
This last week was pathetic how little housework I did!
Ok, off to finish my adult beverage and wait on dinner to cook!

I need tomorrow to happen... NOW
Last night I looked in the fridge and declared that I didn't need to cook a full meal, as we had lunches for today. So I put in a frozen pizza. Like usual, I put a sprinkling of extra cheese on it.
While it cooked, there was an odd smell. I assumed it was the cake that I had baked yesterday, that some had leaked to the bottom of the oven.
Nope...
The freshly cooked pizza was green.
GREEN!!
I checked the cheese.... not green. Weird... The Spousal Equivalent called shenanigans and went out to get Little Caesars.
Fast forward to this morning. The room was uncharacteristically hot last night. I woke up feeling ill, so I went for a walk instead of a run.
After the walk, Misty snuggled up on my lap. She obviously planned on being there for the long hall.
Tomorrow puppy. You can have lap time tomorrow.
