I know that I owe everyone a vacation post but....

I'm still going through mine, and the Spousal Equivalent's pictures..

And honestly my heart isn't in it.

I'm feeling rather directionless right now.

I stood in the shower after finishing the race and decided that I really didn't like running half marathons.  I mean, I'd run a few of them, but they are all training for this race.

I did it!  I actually finished a Disney race.

And all of a sudden, I didn't want to do it anymore.  Do I want to stop running?  I don't think so.  But I think the most I'll attempt is a 10K.

This entire vacation was the culmination of three years of training, saving and planning.

We had an amazing time while we were there!  Disney is such a magical place.  It really is a place where the problems of home don't really matter.

I didn't want to leave.

And honestly, I came back a little depressed.  I have lost all will to eat right and exercise.  I'm eating junk and sleeping in and I know that I'm better than that.

While I was there, I lived all of my dreams.

Now I need to make new dreams.  And that is a rather daunting task!  What is my new dream?  I must admit, I did look on the Disney website to see if my dream job was there.  (It's not, at least I don't think it is.)

For right now, I'm settling on starting some savings.  I want to go back for my birthday some year.

But for now, I need to get back on the exercise wagon.  I need to cut back my spending so I can save for our next trip.  And I need to get back to my life.

But it was wonderful while it lasted!

I can't win for trying!

This morning was going well.  I drove the Spousal Equivalent to the bus stop.  it was amazingly cold, so I decided to forgo my workout for the morning.  (I figured that I'd do a fun workout this afternoon while the SE was running errands.)

So I made breakfast... a large mug of very hot tea and a waffle with almond butter.

I reached for a napkin and spilled the extremely hot tea all over my foot... and the couch and the carpet.

I jumped up to get a towel... and my dog ate my waffle.

So then I used the rug cleaner on the carpet, and washed everything on the couch.  I also sprayed for fleas... since the couch was taken apart.

I got to work to find that one of the classrooms had a technology problem.....  website issues... and student not having the correct paperwork issues...

And it's supposed to snow later.

Honestly, I'm amazed that I haven't sat down and burst into tears yet.

Can I go home now?

Fox just won the musical game, NBC take notice!

I spent three wonderful hours watching Grease: Live last night.

Why was it wonderful?  Because unlike the three musicals that NBC did, this one worked.  And worked well!!

Why?  Let me tell you!!!

1.) They picked great material!

Why NBC ever picked Peter Pan Live, is beyond me.  The musical isn't all that exciting.  They did better with the Wiz: Live.  At least the show was interesting.  The Sound of Music Live should have been a hit, because the movie is loved.  But no, they did a straight adaptation of the stage show.

Fox was smart, they took the best of the movie, and the best of the stage show and put them together!

2.) They found a live audience!

Anyone who has ever performed in front of actual people know that there's an energy that comes with it.  That is one thing that I have found lacking from ALL of NBC's live musicals.  There was no energy.  Everything seemed lifeless.  But having the actual people on set gave Grease life!  it was incredible!  Even John Barowman agrees with me!

3.) They picked actual Broadway actors!!

Aaron Tveit starred in 2 musicals on Broadway.  Vanessa Hudgens starred as Gigi on Broadway.  heck, even Carly Rae Jepson and Keke Palmer starred in the Broadway revival of Cinderella.  Most of the other actors had loads of both singing and acting experience.  And it showed.  There weren't the Carrie Underwoods or the Uzo Adubas in the cast.

Heck, Ana Gasteyer was spot on.

NBC SERIOUSLY needs to step up it's game with Hairspray.
